Maple Leafs announce the tragic passing of beloved former player

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the death of beloved former player Larry McIntyre, who was 75 years old.

McIntyre was with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1970 to 1973, and it was here where he played 41 games with the franchise.

During these 41 games, McIntyre, a Moose Jay, Saskatchewan native, was able to amass a total of three assists.

He was a third-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1969 draft, and during his brief time with the team, he was beloved by the organization.

The Leafs Alumni account on Twitter posted about McIntyre's passing. It was here where numerous fans spoke out about just how much they loved him.

This announcement came just hours after the team had defeated the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 4-1.

It was yet another solid outing from the Maple Leafs, who have proven to be one of the best teams in the entire NHL.

As it stands, the Maple Leafs have a record of 15-7-2 and have won nine of the last 11.

They are currently at a point where they are first in the Atlantic Division, and many fans foresee the Leafs going deep in the postseason with their new mentality.

When it comes to the deal of Larry McIntyre, our hearts and condolences go out to his family during this very difficult time.
