Overall, he is someone that the Leafs actually like quite a bit. Despite this lack of playing time, the team has been adamant that they want to give him some opportunities.
Unfortunately, the Maple Leafs blue line is just incredibly chaotic and crowded right now. For instance, the team just welcomed back Jani Hakanpaa, who had previously been on the long-term injured reserve.
With Hakanpaa back in the lineup, the Leafs have had absolutely no choice but to change course and come through with a roster move.
Myers was the victim as he has been officially sent down to the Toronto Marlies on a conditioning stint.
It remains to be seen what is next for Myers at this stage. It is going to be extremely difficult for him to get himself back into the Maple Leafs lineup.
He will essentially have to wait for a player to start playing poorly, or perhaps hope and pray that someone gets injured, which is definitely not idea.
Whatever the case may be, Myers is a player that can still perform at a high level and the Leafs seem keen on bringing him into the fray in some capacity.
Hopefully, he can figure out so that he gets more opportunities, moving forward.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Edmonton Oilers in what should be a fun matchup.
