Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz has been injured since Christmas, however, it would appear as though the netminder is on the verge of a return.

Anthony Stolarz was an absolute beast for the Maple Leafs prior to going down with an injury.

In fact, he had a .927 save percentage which puts him second in the league right behind Connor Hellebuyck.

Not to mention, his 2.15 goals-against average is another stat to behold. Had it not been for his injury, he would be a Vezina candidate right now.

Anthony Stolarz gearing up for Toronto Maple Leafs comeback

With Stolarz going through the rehab process for his knee issue, there have been numerous reports about when we might see him return to the team.

Well, today, the goaltender gave the Maple Leafs an extra helping of good news as he was a participant at practice.

Anthony Stolarz took shots from his teammates and he even got to do some drills with his goalie trainer.

Joseph Woll and Matt Murray will continue to be the tandem moving forward, although Stolarz is expected to be ready to go by the first week of February.

These practices will serve as a good indication of whether or not his knee is progressing as the doctors hoped it would.

Regardless, Stolarz is back on the ice at practice and this is the kind of positive news that the team needed.

On Saturday, the Leafs are set to take on the Ottawa Senators and it is believed that Joseph Woll will be the goaltender in that one.
