Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi is one of many Leafs players who has been battling an injury to start the NHL season.

Overall, Domi is someone who has struggled to start the year as he has yet to manage a single goal.

Although he did get some reps on the top line in Auston Matthews' absence, Domi has not figured things out.

Meanwhile, he has been on the injured reserve retroactive November 16th, and fans have been wondering when he would get back into the lineup.

This week, the Leafs are set to take on two juggernauts in the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

With that in mind, one would hope that the Leafs could be all hands on deck for this upcoming stretch of games.

Well, according to David Alter of The Hockey News, that will not be the case as Domi will not make the trip.

Max Domi hit with the injury bug

This is certainly unfortunate and we're sure fans are going to be upset about this.

However, one thing that fans are going to be excited about is the potential return of Auston Matthews on Wednesday night.

Matthews was back at practice on Tuesday and it seems like he could very well be ready to go for this next match.

Having said that, the Leafs are on quite the roll, despite all of their injuries.

For instance, they have won seven of their last eight games and have a record of 13-6-2.

This is pretty spectacular, and if they can defeat the Florida Panthers, then it is proof that this club is for real.
