The Toronto Maple Leafs' resilience was demonstrated Saturday night as they came back from a 3-0 first-period deficit to beat the Montreal Canadiens 7-3.

What began as a nightmare in the first period with the Leafs falling behind 3-0, turned into a statement game as they came back with seven unanswered goals to win 7-3 and claim the victory.

Bobby McMann is the obscure hero for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Montreal Canadiens

The beginning of the comeback came from an unexpected hero in Bobby McMann when he ripped a shot that clocked in at 88 MPH and brought back the Leafs to life after losing his stick in the neutral zone.

"I saw a couple guy's sticks. One of Kniesy's, I thought that'd be the closest to (mine). Didn't really think about the white tape though. That's always a difference.

And then, it actually felt good. I went to battle with it and then the puck came around and felt like I had to bend over a little more. He's a little shorter. But then, I was like, 'I gotta rip this with his stick and see what happens.'"

From that critical goal scored by Bobby McMann, the Toronto Maple Leafs played with energy with Auston Matthews, William Nylander and John Tavares each contributing in big plays.

Even the defense tightened up to help goaltender Joseph Woll who was way more solid after the 3 Montreal Canadiens goals.

The Leafs' depth was fully displayed as some scorers like Bobby McMann stepped up to help the team's stars and the team demonstrated that even in tough moments, they can step up and win the game.

This game was more than just two points in the standings, it was a testament of the resilience of the Leafs' and Auston Matthews took time to highlight it during an interview at the end of the game.

"There's no quit in this room"

With such performances, Toronto's confidence heading into the playoff push is undeniable and it's looking great!
