Paul Bissonnette recently weighed in on the Toronto Maple Leafs fan debate after Auston Matthews questioned the crowd noise in the Scotiabank Arena.

Auston Matthews recently called out Toronto Maple Leafs fans after a noticeably quiet night at the Scotiabank Arena.

This has led to some discourse about the fans and whether or not the captain was right to say anything.

Paul Bissonnette agrees with Auston Matthews

Paul Bissonnette of Spittin Chiclets is right with Matthews and claims that there has been a problem for years.

Essentially, he feels like the real fans are being priced out and the rich fans who occupy the lower bowl just have no enthusiasm.

"We're gonna sound like a broken record, but that's not the only team in the East with fan issues.

I've seen this from the f*cking mountaintop forever. You've said it before it was even a thing. Jason Demers hopped on it recently. There's a guy who goes viral all the time-he posted a video from the lower bowl trying to get people going, and they just told him to shut up. It's a snooze fest, and I don't think it's getting any better.

Unfortunately, Bissonnette does not see this problem actually rectifying itself anytime soon especially with inflation getting worse.

"In fact, I think it's getting worse. The only people who can afford Leafs games right now are rich. And with the way things are going in Canada, it's only gonna get quieter. (Yandle) Look at New York-the bottom rows are all suits, but it's still loud.

Since when can rich people not cheer? Hardcore Leafs fans travel because a flight, hotel, and tickets are cheaper than sitting in the lower bowl in Toronto. So they go on the road, like in Ottawa the other night, and take over. There are hardcore Leafs fans-they've just been priced out."

Ultimately, the Maple Leafs organization is going to have to do something because the lack of noise is rejecting and demotivating for the players.

When the playoffs come around, the players are going to want that building to be jumping and there is no guarantee it will be.

Hopefully, the fans can prove the players wrong going forward.
