Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Carolina Hurricanes in a game that ended 6-3 for the blue and white.
Overall, it was a sensational evening for guys like Alex Steeves who scored his first-career goal.
Moreover, the Scotiabank Arena fans were graced with a great performance that showcased how the Maple Leafs offense can still do some pretty big things.
However, something that the media was looking out for ahead of today's game was whether or not the fans in Canada would continue to boo the Star-Spangled Banner.
This was the first game in Toronto since the tariff stuff, and as it turns out, the fans were ready to boo.
As soon as the American National Anthem was played in the arena, some boos rained down all throughout the Scotiabank Arena.
While some may see this as disrespectful, others will see it as the discontentment that Canadians have for the current administration in the United States.
At the end of the day, the fans have every right to be upset, even if the entire act may come across as a bit juvenile.
It remains to be seen how long this is going to continue on for. As we saw at the 4 Nations Face-Off, even the American fans joined in so that they could boo O Canada.
These geo-political tensions are tense and they probably won't end anytime soon. This is something that could even go into the playoffs.
