Winnipeg Jets goalie Eric Comrie had some amazing comments about the game of hockey and why he is grossed out by it in the aftermath of the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Eric Comrie is a goalie who has always had some interesting things to say about the sport of hockey and while he may just be a backup, his peers respect him tremendously.

In the aftermath of the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Winnipeg Jets goalie was asked about the growth of hockey, and it led to a fascinating answer.

Eric Comrie comments about Hockey

Comrie could not help but admit that the 4 Nations Face-Off was great for hockey but moving forward, the game is going to be very difficult to grow.

Why? Well, the goaltender believes hockey is way too expensive to play. From the price of gear to all of the hoops families must jump through to get their kids in the sport, it is just way too much.

"It's ridiculous how expensive it is and it kind of grosses me out thinking about how hard it is for kids to play this game."

At the end of the day, hockey is one of the most expensive youth sports in the entire world, and that probably won't change anytime soon.

Despite the best efforts of parents, gear companies continue to increase their prices regardless of what is right.

The price increases are outmatching inflation, which is absolutely highway robbery and a complete disgrace.

With these prices, potential stars are being gatekept from one of the best sports in the entire world.

One has to wonder if things will ever change and if parents can be given a break so that their kids can experience this great sport.
