Bobby McMann is Becoming a Serious Problem for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann had a phenomenal start to the NHL season, however, things have taken a turn leading up to the trade deadline.
Bobby McMann started out this season in rare form as he was able to get off to a hot start and prove to be the most consistent goal-scorer on the team's bottom-six forward core.
However, some new statistics point to a huge dip in performance from the forward, and this should definitely concern the team heading into the trade deadline.
Is Bobby McMann going to be traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs?
According to Kevin Papetti of The Athletic, McMann has not taken a single shot in the last five games, which is shocking given his 5-on-5 stats.
Overall, McMann has 17 goals and 10 assists on the season, but his goal-scoring has slowed down significantly as of late and is definitely starting to become a point of contention.
I'm not sure what's going on there.
One has to wonder why this is happening right now and if it has anything to do with his linemates Nick Robertson and Max Domi, who have certainly had their struggles at times this season.
Having said that, one could also make the argument that Bobby McMann is starting to feel the pressure of the trade deadline.
Even though he has not been mentioned in trade talks, this time of year can be stressful for anyone, especially if your linemates are being mentioned in rumors.
For now, McMann is just going to have to play through it and try to get his mojo back, otherwise, the fans are going to turn on him very quickly.
Hopefully, he is able to find his game prior to this upcoming playoff run, which is most certainly going to be a doozy.
