Craig Berube Chews Out the Toronto Maple Leafs Following Embarrassing Loss to the Sharks
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube was not impressed last night after his team blew a third period lead to the bottom-feeding San Jose Sharks.
Craig Berube has instilled some phenomenal defensive philosophies into his team as coming into last night's game against the San Jose Sharks, the Toronto Maple Leafs had yet to give up a third period lead this season.
However, that all came to a screeching halt as their 2-0 lead against the Sharks was brutally erased, leading to a loss in the team's first shootout of the season.

Following the game, Berube spoke to the media where he gave his assessment of the Maple Leafs and what went wrong.
In his eyes, a huge component to the loss was turning the puck over as well as missing the net way too often.
"We turned the puck over a bit in the third, one ended up in our net. I liked a lot of our game. Not nit-picking, but we missed the net too much. Any loss is disappointing, a 2-0 lead we didn't close"
Subsequently, Craig Berube spoke about the team's power play in overtime where they were not able to get that game-winning goal.
«We're in a good spot to close it out. And we didn't do the job. We had a chance in OT with a power play and couldn't get one.»
To have your five-game winning streak broken by the worst team in the NHL is definitely a humbling experience.
However, Berube's Maple Leafs were on the second half of a back-to-back and the schedule coming out of the 4 Nations Face-Off has certainly been very hectic.
Having said that, it is easy to see how the team struggled to close last night as they were probably very tired. While we certainly aren't making excuses for them, there is no doubt that fatigue played a factor.
It is not going to get any easier, however, as the Maple Leafs are traveling to the West Coast for a game against the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday.
Only time will tell if Craig Berube's squad is up to the challenge.
