John Klingberg is setting his sights on an NHL comeback after over 400 days away from the ice.

As reported by Hockey Patrol, Elliotte Friedman reported during Hockey Night in Canada's "Saturday Headlines" that the Swedish blueliner is determined to continue his career following a big surgery.

John Klingberg was once among the NHL's most dangerous offensive defensemen and he made an immediate impact when he debuted in 2014.

A Calder Trophy finalist and All-Rookie team member, he quickly established himself as a top-tier blueliner and his production included a career-high 67 points in 2017-18 and a streak of four consecutive seasons with at least 45 points.

Despite his size, Klingberg is known for his offensive mindset and often pushes the play forward with aggressive pinches that can result in turnovers.

For teams considering him, the challenge lies in finding a system that complements his style while mitigating his defensive lapses.

Klingberg's surgery is similar to the procedure that revitalized Patrick Kane, giving hope that the defenseman could regain his mobility and effectiveness.

However, his journey back to the NHL won't be easy at 32 years old and coming off serious hip surgery because unlike younger players or those with existing contracts, Klingberg may face difficulties securing a deal.

While it remains uncertain if or when John Klingberg will find a new team, his determination to return is commendable and if he succeed, his comeback could serve as a reminder of the resilience and talent that made him a standout in the league.

The question now is whether any team will be willing to take a chance on his return.
