Steven Lorentz was brought in to sure up the Toronto Maple Leafs' fourth line while also injecting a bit of Stanley Cup-winning pedigree into the roster.
So far, the forward has lived up to expectations and has quickly become a favorite of head coach Craig Berube.
Recently, Lorentz found himself as the subject of numerous jokes thanks to a mishap that occurred during his pre-game routine.
Typically, he likes to jump onto the boards. However, when his undone strap got caught in the glass, it took numerous teammates to get his helmet unlatched.
Well, as a result of this embarrassing blunder, Lorentz has since decided to change up his routine by making sure that his helmet strap is done up at all times.
This is going to go a long way in making sure that he never has that problem, ever again.
Meanwhile, with Lorentz playing some solid hockey, there have been rumblings that he will get a contract extension, very soon.
Now that January 1st has passed, the fourth-line forward is eligible to negotiate a new deal and the assumption is that the Leafs are very interested in giving him one.
It is certainly well-deserved as he is one of the few players on the team who has played every single game so far this season.
Only time will tell how he helps this team in the playoffs which can be a grueling war of attrition.
