On Sunday night, Garnet Hathaway of the Philadelphia Flyers fought Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe, and it did not end well.
McCabe had his head slammed against the ice while Hathaway's knee almost caught McCabe in the face.
Fans believe retaliation is necessary and to prepare for what could be a very scrappy game, head coach Craig Berube has decided to make a lineup change.
According to reporting from David Alter and Luke Fox, Nicholas Robertson was not part of line rushes this morning.
Meanwhile, Ryan Reaves was a participant, which means Berube has decided to scratch Robertson while giving his enforcer a shot at glory.
The expectation tonight is that Reaves is going to fight Hathaway, although there are no guarantees.
While these two do have a history with one another, Reaves has been a bit shy when it comes to fighting this season.
This has led to all sorts of discourse about whether or not the enforcer has been fulfilling his role on the team, especially with all of the recent scratches.
Having said that, tonight is definitely going to be very interesting, and there will hopefully be a whole lot of physicality.
If the Maple Leafs win, that will make it five in a row and they would also increase their lead in the Atlantic Division.
Needless to say, there is a whole lot riding on this game.
