Max Pacioretty is getting older and with his age has come a plethora of injuries that have kept him out of the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup this season.
Overall, his situation has been a bit of a frustrating one, especially since it has meant less consistency for the second line that includes William Nylander and John Tavares.
After returning to practice during the 4 Nations Face-Off, Pacioretty suffered yet another injury and as a result, he has missed the last three games.
This afternoon, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in Boston for one last practice before they head off to New York where they will take on the Rangers.
According to reports out of practice, Pacioretty is currently a participant on the ice, which is definitely good news and something to be celebrated.
This does not necessarily mean the forward is going to be making a comeback anytime soon. Instead, it just means that he is progressing.
The forward has five goals and 13 points this season, which is modest production but you can't be too mad given the fact that he is 36 years old.
He's only played in 37 games this season and it remains to be seen how many more he will get to play this year.
Pacioretty needs 61 more games to reach 1000, but considering his age and his injuries, there is no guarantee that he will ever get to that number.
Either way, we wish the forward nothing but the best going forward and we would absolutely love to see him in game action on Friday against the Rangers.
In the games that Pacioretty has missed, the Leafs have won three-straight.
