Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev was one of the team's most recent offseason pick-ups and he was easily the best decision the franchise could have made.
When Chris Tanev was acquired by the Maple Leafs, fans knew that he was going to add some solid depth to the team's blueline, and so far this season, he has more than delivered.

Unfortunately, Tanev is now going through some injury issues that could affect the team's immediate future.
The defenseman ended up sitting out on Monday as the Maple Leafs took on the Winnipeg Jets.
It turned out to be a bad loss, and there is no doubt that Tanev would have been helpful had he been in the team's lineup.
Now, some new footage is surfacing of Tanev speaking about just how much he loves being part of the Maple Leafs organization.
He was also giving some tips to rookie Fraser Minten, which makes all of this that much more special.
If you are sentimental, this may even bring you to tears seeing as though Tanev is now dealing with an injury.
Hopefully, this injury is something that won't affect the team for very long. The Leafs are back in action on Friday, and there is a chance that the defenseman returns.
For now, however, fans should not count on it as the team has certainly been a bit untrustworthy whenever it comes to anything regarding day-to-day injuries.
