Ryan Reaves Hints At What's Next Once He Retires From Hockey
Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves is closing in on retirement and he seems to know what he wants to do when the time finally arrives.
Ryan Reaves is 38 years old which means his time in the NHL is coming to an end.
This is especially true when you consider how he hardly has the gumption to fight anymore. Not to mention, his production has slowed and the game of hockey doesn't require his role anymore.

However, there are plenty of ways for Reaves to shine when he eventually does retire from the sport.
A recent player's poll suggested that Ryan Reveas is the most likely player to have a career in media when all is said and done.
In fact, the Leafs enforcer claims that agencies have already reached out to him about the possibility.
"I've thought about (doing media) and I've had a few agencies call me over the last few years. I guess they thought I'd retired."
That said, Reaves does have some reservations about going into the media space. In his eyes, National Television is a bit too restrictive in terms of what you can do and say.
"My hang up with it is I would rather do something like 'Spittin' Chiclets' or 'Inside the NBA' where you can speak freely and have a little fun and it's not so dry.
Hockey doesn't do a very good job at marketing the game because they want everything to be so black and white. You can't have a very strong opinion about things, you can't have fun with things.
I feel like we fall behind other sports in that regard. That would be my hang-up to just going anywhere on TV."
One has to wonder whether or not this will be Reaves' final season in the NHL. No matter what, the writing has been on the wall for a very long time.
If it is his last season, hopefully the Maple Leafs can make it a special one, even if he doesn't get much playing time come the postseason.
