Brandon Hagel and Team Canada won the 4 Nations Face-Off on Thursday after Connor McDavid scored an incredible goal in overtime.
Throughout the tournament, there was a lot of trash-talking between Team USA and Team Canada, especially with all of the political discourse going on.
If you remember, Team USA players Brady Tkachuk and Matthew Tkachuk admitted to having a group chat where they were plotting their fights against Canada on Saturday night.
Hagel responded to that by saying that Team Canada didn't need group chats to generate interest. This then led to Matthew Tkachuk implying that only teammates who like each other have group chats.
After the win last night, Hagel took to his social media and posted a photo of his new group chat with all of his Team Canada teammates.
It was the perfect troll to finish off the tournament and to send one last shot at the Americans.
Team USA and many American fans were taking things too far before the game, and this result just shows that Canada still has a ton of pride.
The players really gave it their all and that is exactly what you want to see in a best-on-best tournament.
We will get to see Canada and the United States play each other again in 2026 at the Milan Winter Olympics.
As for Hagel and the Tkachuk brothers, their rivalry is going to be fascinating for the rest of the NHL season.
