Controversial Former Toronto Sports Personality Fired From High-Profile Media Job
Sid Seixeiro was a controversial figure in the Toronto sports media world and now he is out of a job with Rogers as he was fired from his job at Breakfast Television.
If you were an avid watcher of Sportsnet back in the day, you certainly remember "Tim & Sid," which was an ESPN-style debate show.
Sid Seixeiro had great chemistry with his co-host, although he eventually left the show to pursue a gig hosting Breakfast Television over on City TV.
Why was Sid Seixeiro fired from Breakfast Television?
Well shocking news came out this morning as Seixeiro revealed that he and co-host Meredith Shaw had been taken off the air.
Although Seixeiro did not confirm why he lost his job, it seems as though he was fired when you consider how Shaw also lost her post on the exact same day.
"Hey guys. Confirming my last day at @breakfasttv was this past Friday. Thanks for letting me into your homes and for being so kind. Also, thank you to @Rogers for over 13 years of support. They allowed me incredible freedom on-air and I'm grateful.
God bless. We'll talk soon."
Seixeiro has always been known for his fiery hot takes and boisterous attitude when it comes to both sports commentary and political analysis.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans have had a love/hate relationship with Sid over the years although recently, there has been more hate than love.
Some fans are clamoring for Sid to reunite with Tim Micallef, however, he was let go by Rogers and not just Breakfast Television, so that seems very unlikely.
Losing a job can be scary and it definitely isn't easy out there in these media streets.
Having said that, we do wish Sid the best of luck moving forward and we hope he is able to land on his feet and get back on TV soon.
