Brad Marchand has been a staple of the Bruins organization for over a decade now and it is impossible to imagine him on another team.
When you think of Boston and their style of play since the team's inception, you cannot help but immediately picture the Nova Scotian forward.
Marchand is the epitome of grit, toughness, and raw talent. However, he is getting older and the Bruins seem to be a team that is ready for a rebuild or a retooling at the very worst.
While it seemed unfathomable that the team would move him at the trade deadline, it seems as though things have changed and the NHL is on notice.
During a TSN segment, reporter Chris Johnston revealed that the word around the league is that Marchand will be dealt to the Western Conference.
Some of the teams that are rumored to be in the mix out that way are the Colorado Avalanche, the Edmonton Oilers, and even the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Brad Marchand has certainly seen his production take a bit of a dive in recent years but that just comes with getting older.
He has 47 points in 61 games this season and a net rating of -8 which isn't amazing although when your team is struggling, this kind of thing is going to happen.
The trade deadline is coming up in a few hours from now so only time will tell whether or not Marchand actually does get sent somewhere else.
If he does, the trade will be one of the biggest of the entire day and it will be a sad moment for the Boston Bruins franchise.
