Having said that, Marchand let his emotions get the best of him as he stepped to Cousins during a whistle.
In the clip below, you can see that the Bruins captain skated right up to the Sens pest, took his glove off, and put his hand around Cousins' throat as if to choke him.
The referees immediately put a stop to this as you never want to see a player getting choked in such a visceral way.
Marchand and Cousins were separated and that was the end of that. Overall, the danger levels were low, but there is no doubt that this was shocking to watch.
