Connor Dewar has been in and out of the Maple Leafs lineup this season and has mostly spent his time on the fourth line.
After missing a game against the Montreal Canadiens, Dewar played against the Lightning but it did not end particularly well for him.
At practice this morning, Dewar was absent along with goaltender Joseph Woll who was simply taking a maintenance day.
As for Dewar, it was revealed by Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube that he is suffering from an upper-body injury and will be day-to-day moving forward.
The same can be said of forward Max Pacioretty who missed the game against the Lightning after sustaining a head injury against the Habs.
These updates essentially confirm that Fraser Minten will remain in the lineup and that Ryan Reaves will likely slot in against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Leafs are currently on a three-game winning streak and they are trying to keep the good times rolling.
This winning streak is actually a phenomenal showing of resilience when you consider how the team was previously on a three-game losing skid.
Now, the Leafs are trying to create as much separation as they can in the Atlantic Division prior to the Four Nations Face-Off.
Hopefully, the Leafs can turn this regular season success into a deep playoff run, something they have not done in decades.
