William Nylander had yet another solid game on Monday night as he picked up a goal against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Nylander now has 28 goals this season and he also has 21 assists which gives him a total of 49 points in 48 games.
The forward has proven to be an interesting guy this season, especially with just how cool, calm, and collected he has been even despite some ups and downs.
In fact, this mentality can sometimes be mistaken for a lack of passion. After dismissing the team's recent three-game losing streak, this sentiment was especially prevalent.
However, the Leafs won last night and they increased their winning streak to three games. When asked about this winning streak, Nylander gave a very familiar answer.
This answer just goes to show that Nylander was never particularly flippant about losing. Instead, he just understands that it is a long season and there is no point getting emotional.
Now, the Leafs have a fairly decent-sized lead in the Atlantic Division standings and there is a good chance the team actually wins it.
Ultimately, this would help give the team a favorable draw in the playoffs as they would likely get to play against a Wild Card team.
The Leafs are looking to have some real playoff success this season and they have the pieces to get it done.
If Nylander continues to play well, then there is no doubt that the Leafs can do something special.
