Calle Jarnkrok undergoes surgery and gets hit with a lengthy recovery timeline
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok has been going through it as of late thanks to a sports hernia injury that hasn't gone away.
Overall, Jarnkrok is someone that the Leafs would love to have back as he adds depth and is an overall positive influence in the locker room.
However, his return to action has been slashed at every opportunity and fans have been concerned about his recovery.
It was revealed recently that he had undergone a setback and would need to go see a specialist out in New York. That is exactly what he did and it appears as though he got some severe advice.
Today, it was revealed by the Leafs organization that Jarnkrok had no choice but to go seek out a surgery on his groin and sports hernia.
As a result of this surgery, Jarnkrok will have a months-long recovery and there is no set date for his return to action.
Calle Jarnkrok is going to be out a while
Overall, this is going to come as a disappointment to a lot of fans, however, it is for the best.
Jarnkrok needs to recover from the ailment he is dealing with, and this will ultimately allow him to do that.
However, as it stands, the Leafs are playing well so fans should not get too sad too quickly. They have won five of their last six and have a record of 11-6-2.
As it stands, this Leafs team is showing the entire NHL what it is made of and to make it more impressive, they are doing it without Auston Matthews.
Moving forward, we wish Calle Jarnkrok the best with his recovery. Hopefully, he can come back better than ever.
