The injury bug has struck the Toronto Maple Leafs all season long and there has no doubt that it has been difficult for the team to keep up.
More recently, John Tavares, Matthew Knies, and Max Pacioretty have been left out of the lineup because of a varying degree of ailments.
On Wednesday, the Maple Leafs are back in action against the Minnesota Wild and there are a lot of questions about who might be back in the lineup.
As it pertains to Tavares, it appears as though he is back on the ice, which is certainly some good news right now.
However, don't expect him to play on Wednesday. He will only be back at practice at the end of the week.
As for Knies and Pacioretty, they have been on the ice at the team's practice facility which is certainly good news.
Which player will return to the lineup first? The most likely answer appears to be none other than Knies who was dealing with an upper-body injury.
The Maple Leafs are currently on a two-game losing streak which makes these upcoming games extremely important.
Overall, fans are expecting the team to get back into the win column, but it won't be easy against a feisty Wild team that has exceeded expectations this season.
If the Leafs can get some of their forwards back, then the game will definitely be a whole lot easier.
