The St. Louis Blues are a team with a fair amount of assets and according to Nick Kypreos, the Toronto Maple Leafs want one of their defensemen desperately.

Colton Parayko is a 6'6 defenseman who can knock bodies down but also inject some offense into your blue line.

In fact, this season, the Blues D-man has 11 goals and 17 assists while also boasting a net rating of +1 despite his team's lackluster results.

Toronto Maple Leafs want Colton Parayko

As you can imagine, Parayko is a player that a lot of teams are trying to target, especially if the Blues emerge as sellers at the trade deadline.

In fact, according to Nick Kypreos, Brad Treliving has called Doug Armstrong numerous times, wondering if Parayko is available.

Unfortunately for the Leafs, Armstrong has shut these talks down every single time, and he has done the same with other General Managers around the league.

"There might not be a GM who gets more calls than Doug Armstrong on Colton Parayko. The Leafs can't stop knocking on that door but it's not getting answered."

The Leafs have a solid blue line but their weakest link right now appears to be Morgan Rielly who has struggled mightily at times.

Overall, the blueline could be getting a lot more offense, and Parayko is someone who would help with that.

According to reports, the Leafs are searching for another defenseman, so these Parayko reports should come as no surprise.

Only time will tell whether or not Treliving is able to secure his wish list once the deadline comes in a few weeks from now.
