When it comes to goaltending, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been blessed this season as Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz are playing some tremendous hockey.
Anthony Stolarz was a monster on Tuesday night against the New Jersey Devils, as he stopped 37 out of 38 shots in a huge win for the Maple Leafs.
He currently has a goals-against average of 2.13 and a save percentage of .928 which puts him in contention for the Vezina trophy.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are playing the Anaheim Ducks, and given the 50-50 split the Leafs have gone with this season, the assumption was that Joseph Woll would get the start.
However, it seems as though head coach Craig Berube would rather go with the hot hand, and it is very hard to blame him.
According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Anthony Stolarz will be the one getting the start tonight, which is great to see.
While Woll has also been playing great hockey, you can't help but feel like Stolarz deserved this second-straight start.
He has been an absolute beast for the Maple Leafs so far this season, and with a 9-5-2 record, the Maple Leafs feel as though they can safely trust him between the pipes.
Moreover, the Ducks are a struggling team which means the Leafs should be able to win, or at least play better than they did on Tuesday night.
The Leafs come into this game with a record of 17-9-2.
