Max Pacioretty and Jake McCabe have both been out of the Maple Leafs lineup, albeit for very different amounts of time.
Max Pacioretty has missed almost a month stemming from a leg injury he suffered against the Montreal Canadiens.
Meanwhile, McCabe has been out since last weekend when he was injured by a puck to the head and neck area.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are back in action against the Pittsburgh Penguins and some huge injury updates have come down the pipeline.
According to the Maple Leafs' official Public Relations account on X, Pacioretty is officially coming off the long-term injured reserve and will presumably be in tonight's lineup.
Meanwhile, Jake McCabe has been placed on the Injured Reserve and it is being considered retroactive as of November 30th.
Based on comments made by Bob McKenzie, it is being theorized that McCabe could be back by Tuesday, but this latest decision ultimately guarantees that this won't be the case.
Having said that, fans will definitely be excited about the return of Max Pacioretty.
Last night's loss against the Washington Capitals showcased a stagnant offense that needed some sort of boost.
With Pacioretty back, there is a real chance that the Leafs will end up playing with a bit more pep in their step.
Only time will tell what happens next for this squad.
