Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson has been playing horribly as of late and Craig Berube has finally decided to take action against him.

Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Washington Capitals and lost by a score of 3-1.

Throughout the game, Nick Robertson was completely missing in action and his line as a whole, was doing absolutely nothing.

Eventually, Berube got completely fed up and decided to bench Robertson in the third period, leading to the least amount of ice time the forward has amassed all season long.

Overall, it was a move that was quite popular with fans, who have grown fed up of Robertson who is not living up to his hype.

Through the first 23 games of the season, Nick Robertson has two goals and zero assists, which just isn't good enough.

Craig Berube takes action against Nick Robertson

After Friday night's game, Craig Berube gave his honest thoughts on Robertson and explained his decision to bench the forward.

"I went with three lines. I didn't think he had much going on."

Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to be playing against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Robertson's status is certainly going to be in the air.

There is a real possibility that Max Pacioretty is going to be in the lineup.

If that is the case, then there is a chance that Robertson ends up getting the boot and will be a healthy scratch.

Meanwhile, there have been all kinds of trade rumors involving Robertson and with his recent play, they may just have no choice but to take some action.
