Today's Maple Leafs game against the Jets was not a good one, at least in the eyes of Leafs fans as the team ended up losing by a score of 5-2.
They gave up a hat trick to Mark Scheifele and things probably could have been different had they played with Chris Tanev in the lineup.
However, the defenseman was scratched just moments before the game, with the team announcing on social media that he had a lower-body injury.
Of course, this raised quite a bit of suspicion as there had been nothing said about Tanev's status, previously.
Defensively, the Maple Leafs were not great this afternoon, and with Morgan Rielly struggling, Tanev is someone who could have been a key asset.
He has been a +11 while on the ice and has picked up a goal and nine assists in the first 34 games of the NHL season.
At the end of the day, Tanev is far from the first player on the Maple Leafs to deal with injuries this season.
Right now, the team has faced injury issues with Auston Matthews and even Anthony Stolarz, who are necessary to this team's success.
Overall, it cannot be easy being a Maple Leafs fan right now, especially as the team has lost two games in a row.
As for Tanev going forward, it was noted after the game that there is no timeline on the defenseman and that Craig Berube cannot give an exact diagnosis on the injury.
What we do know, is that the injury was sustained on Saturday against the New York Islanders.
