Shaw has been around professional hockey for over a decade now as he is 32 years old and has a total of 232 NHL games under his belt.
This is his third season with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, however, all of it has been spent with the Marlies.
As the captain of the team, Shaw is very valuable to the Marlies, and he has been a consummate professional over the years.
Having said that, it should come as absolutely no surprise that the organization would reward him with a new contract.
On Friday, it was announced that Logan Shaw was being signed to a two-year contract extension.
This also coincides with Shaw being named to Team Canada's roster for the Spengler Cup.
The Spengler Cup is a tournament that takes place every few years in Europe, and it is one of those tournaments that is oftentimes overlooked by hockey fans.
Regardless, this is all very cool for Shaw, who absolutely deserves the praise and adulation from the organization.
He is someone who has a bright future in the sport of hockey, and we hope that he can finish out his career with the Marlies.
Who knows...he may even get a chance with the Maple Leafs if he plays his cards right. At this stage, it feels unlikely, but he is definitely someone who is worthy of a shot.
