Vancouver Canucks Make Last-Minute Quinn Hughes Decision Against the Maple Leafs
Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes has been dealing with an injury and there were questions about whether or not he could play against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Quinn Hughes has been one of the few bright spots for the Vancouver Canucks in a season where interpersonal turmoil has completely wrecked the locker room.
In fact, the defenseman has 59 points in 47 games and continues to be the team's best player, especially with JT Miller shipped off to New York.
Is Quinn Hughes playing against the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Unfortunately for the Canucks, Hughes has been dealing with an injury as of late and it has been keeping him out of the team's lineup.
This is also having an effect on Team Canada as the defenseman is slated to be on the squad's top pairing for the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Going into tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, there were concerns that Hughes would not be ready to go.
Those concerns were confirmed by head coach Rick Tocchet, who told the media that Hughes will not be playing tonight.
This game is a bit odd for both the Canucks and the Maple Leafs as this is a 4 PM local start on the West Coast.
There was no morning skate, and on the Leafs' side, there are still some unknowns about the lineup right now.
Whatever the case may be, this development is going to be advantageous for the Maple Leafs, who are trying to win four in a row.
As for the Canucks, they will just have to try and do their best as their season continues to slip through their fingers.
