Team Canada plays against Team Finland at the 4 Nations Face-Off today and there are some unique scenarios that could play out in regards to the Championship Game.

On Saturday night, Team Canada lost to Team USA in a game that many are heralding as an instant classic to the sport of hockey.

Team Canada vs. Team Finland

However, the loss has left Canada tied with Finland and Sweden with two points apiece.

As a result, tonight's game against Team Finland has become a must-win for Canada and there are a few scenarios that must play out for them to make the 4 Nations Face-Off Final.

Firstly, winning in regulation will give Canada an outright place in the Final game. However, if they win in overtime, then they would need Team USA to claim at least one point against Sweden to still advance.

Regulation win: They clinch a spot in the final

Overtime/shootout win: They need USA to claim at least a point from Sweden in tonight's game to advance

Loss: They are eliminated

Unsurprisingly, a loss of any kind today would put Team Finland into the final as both teams are tied with two points.

This makes today's game incredibly important and it could very well set us up for a rematch between Team USA and Team Canada.

This is what the NHL was probably hoping for as the first game between these two teams was an absolute ratings success.

Meanwhile, a Team Finland vs. Team USA final could be a dud as the first game between these teams finished by a score of 6-1.

Only time will tell whether or not the sport of hockey gets the final game we all deserve.
