captain Auston Matthews has had to deal with a few injuries this season and the 4 Nations Face-Off has unfortunately brought on another one.

After a win against Team Canada over the win, Auston Matthews missed his team's game against Team Sweden on Monday.

This was due to an injury, and of course, Maple Leafs fans grew concerned about the nature of the ailment and whether or not it would affect the captain going forward.

Is Auston Matthews playing in the 4 Nations Face-Off final

Tomorrow night, Canada and the U.S. will have a rematch for the 4 Nations Face-Off Final and fans cannot wait for this game to go down.

However, there has been quite a bit of chatter about whether or not Auston Matthews would be able to play in this one.

Well, while speaking to reporters, the Maple Leafs captain made it clear that he is going to play on Thursday night, which is what many were expecting.

«There's no way I was missing this game.»

Unfortunately, Matthews did admit that he is currently dealing with a new injury and that this ailment has nothing to do with what plagued him for much of the season.

Overall, this is very bad news for the Maple Leafs, although Matthews did make sure to claim that he is doing just fine and that he feels a lot better.

Following the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Maple Leafs will be back in action on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

For now, it is unknown whether or not Matthews is going to be good to go in that game or if he will skip it entirely.

Either way, if you are a Leafs fan, it is hard not to be at least a little bit concerned.
