Zach Hyman has become a goal-scoring machine in the NHL as of late, and now, he and his family are purchasing the Brantford Bulldogs from owner Michael Andlauer.
According to Darren Dreger, the purchase is going to be finalized next week once it has been approved by the OHL Board of Governors.
The amount that Hyman purchased the team for is currently unknown, however, it is expected that a $140 million sports and entertainment facility will soon be built for the team.
Andlauer had originally purchased the team in 2015. At the time, they were in Belleville and they ultimately got moved to Hamilton.
In 2023, they moved again, this time to Brantford, and now, Andlauer is relinquishing the team to the Hyman family.
It will be interesting to see what Hyman does with the team moving forward, especially since the forward will have complete control, along with his family.
Clearly, Zach Hyman has a lot of love and respect for Junior Hockey in Canada, which is always great to see.
Meanwhile, his campaign with the Edmonton Oilers is going quite well and the team is trying to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals where they could avenge last year's heartbreaking loss.
If they want any chance at winning it all, Hyman will need to be that 50-goal scorer he has proven himself to be.
