Patrick Kane is easily one of the best American players in the history of the NHL and there is no doubt that he loves being from the United States.
The forward always represents his country when he gets the opportunity to, and with recent events unfolding, Kane has not shied away from speaking out.
Of course, we are talking about the recent trend of Canadian NHL fans booing the Star-Spangled Banner because of the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
While speaking to the media, Kane noted that he doesn't particularly like hearing the boos although he does empathize with the Canadian fans.
One has to wonder how long this will ultimately go on for. Canadians are upset with what they are seeing right now and they are letting that be known.
The unity in Canada has been a sight to behold and it is unlike anything we have seen in quite some time.
Having said that, booing the Anthem is probably very jarring for all of the American players and we can see why they might be offended.
Only time will tell if the NHL starts throwing out fans who boo or if that is something they can even get a handle on in the first place.
No matter what, the sport of hockey is meant to bring people together and right now, it appears to be dividing among borders.
