Montreal Canadiens Rookie Emil Heineman Injured After Being Hit By A Car In Utah
According to reports out of Sweden, Emil Heineman was in Utah for the Montreal Canadiens game against the Utah Hockey Club and now, his status is up in the air.
This is all because of a car accident that left the forward with an injury that threatens to keep him out of the Habs lineup for a significant amount of time.
Emil Heineman injured in Utah
Moments ago, the Montreal Canadiens confirmed that Heineman was a pedestrian when he got struck by a vehicle.
This led to an upper-body injury that is going to be keeping him out of the team's lineup for three to four weeks.
Emil Heineman was involved in a traffic accident yesterday as a pedestrian. Heineman sustained an upper-body injury and will be out 3-4 weeks.
This is a truly horrible development for the rookie and the Canadiens, who have been on a roll as of late.
Heineman has scored 10 goals and seven assists this season and has been a huge reason for the team's success.
With the rookie out of the lineup, the Habs will now have to look elsewhere for an extra injection of offense.
As unfortunate as this is, we are glad that Heineman's injuries are not more serious.
You never want to see a player go through something like this, especially in light of the tragedy involving Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.
We wish Emil Heineman a speedy recovery.
