Hockey Community Mourns the Passing of 16-Year-Old Rising Star
The hockey community is in mourning right now following the passing of 16-year-old rising star William Neeb who played for the 16U AAA Connecticut Chiefs.
William Neeb was a beloved hockey star for the Connecticut Chiefs who played in the state's 16U AAA division.
He was a talented young man who had a bright future in the sport, however, his life was cut short following a tragic car accident.

In a recent game, his teammates came together and huddled at center ice where they honored Neeb's memory in a truly beautiful way.
In a statement from his team, Neeb's dedication to his team and being a good teammate was outlined.
These words just showcase what a special young man he was and how much he meant to the people around him.
"Shortly after being recruited for the 16U AAA Full Season team, Will immersed himself in training with Coach Trent, driven by his unwavering love for hockey. Will's relentless work ethic, positive attitude, and leadership by example made him not only a standout athlete but also a beloved teammate. His presence on and off the ice will be deeply missed."
His lacrosse team put out a similar statement that just speaks to Neeb's special character.
"He was an outstanding athlete and a favorite with his coaches and teammates. Will showed leadership and selflessness on the field, and always set an excellent example for the players around him. He will be remembered as a kind, polite, coachable, and all around great kid."
Our heart goes out to Neeb's family, friends, and teammates during this incredibly difficult time.
