When it comes to Halloween, there are a lot of costumes that can get you into a whole lot of trouble. During this day and age, you need to be aware of what is considered insensitive. Even if you disagree with people being "too woke," it's better to just play it safe.
Unfortunately for Trocheck, he did not get that message. For Halloween, he and his wife decided that it would be a good idea to dress as the Menendez brothers. If you're unaware, the two brothers killed their parents.
The case is getting a lot of attention now as they might be resentenced. There have been reports that the Menendez brothers only did what they did because of alleged abuse from their father. Consequently, some people found the costume to be extremely exploitative.
Eventually, Trocheck took down the social media post, which is probably for the best. While some may see this as a sign of weakness, others will appreciate it. Whatever the case may be, it seems as though he has learned his lesson on being too controversial.
