William Nylander's brother Alex Nylander played his very first game with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night against the Utah Hockey Club.

Overall, it was a pretty good night for the Maple Leafs as they came through with a 3-2 win.

William Nylander had himself a goal in the game and Mitch Marner came away with two of his own.

After the game, head coach Craig Berube spoke to the media about the brothers and his decision to put them on the ice at the same time.

"It is great, for sure," Berube explained. "Any time you can play with your brother, play some shifts with your brother, and be on the ice with him, it is a special thing. It is a special situation. I am very happy for both of them and their dad, who was a player in the league for a long time."

Meanwhile, Berube also had an assessment of Alex and his first game with the team.

If you are expecting a massive compliment here, you are probably going to be a bit disappointed.

"He was fine. He had a couple of chances - a couple of looks. I used him in different situations, but I thought he was fine overall."

Having said that, there is no doubt that Alex has potential with the Maple Leafs.

He is a player who has proven himself at the NHL level, and if he continues to get opportunities, maybe he will end up surprising some people.

Either way, fans should be happy to see that Nylander got the opportunity to begin with.

Only time will tell what he can do with this roster, moving forward.
