Today, it was revealed that New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider could be traded, and it poses questions about the Toronto Maple Leafs interest.

Overall, we are a quarter of the way through the NHL season and some teams want to improve.

Despite a solid start to the year, the New York Rangers are still only fourth in the Metropolitan division.

They are not happy with this and believe that they could make their team a whole lot better.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Rangers are considering trading both Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba.

This feels hard to believe, however, it seems like the Rangers are trying to do something truly bold.

Chris Kreider on his way out of New York?

"In the aftermath of their 6-2 loss in Edmonton on Saturday, the Rangers have made it very clear they are interested in making moves and shaking up their roster.

Among the names indicated are Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba, although other options will be considered."

This is something that the Maple Leafs should absolutely do their due diligence on, moving forward.

Kreider is a player who could inject a ton of offense into the team.

However, the big issue here is the cap space and what kind of assets would have to be given up in order to acquire the star.

If you're the Leafs, you absolutely have to make a calculation about what you would be willing to give up at this time.

Only time will tell whether or not Brad Treliving decides to do anything with this information.

For now, the Leafs are already on a roll.
