The Canadiens were winning 3-0 after the first period against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
It was a disastrous first period, however, the Leafs stormed back and scored seven unanswered goals. The final score was 7-3 and it was a great win for Toronto.
During the first period, Reaves challenged Xhekaj to a fight. Unfortunately for Reaves, the Habs defenseman declined and even pointed towards the scoreboard.
At the start of the second period, Xhekaj ran through Reaves in a second attempt at humiliating the enforcer.
Unfortunately for the Montreal Canadiens, both of these instances would prove to be a bad omen.
The Leafs went on to get their first goal of the game and they did not look back as they had seven different goal-scorers in those final two periods.
Simply put, the tables turned in Ryan Reaves' favor and it had the opposite effect that Arber Xhekaj intended.
That's why you should only resort to pointing at the scoreboard when the game is already well out of reach.
Doing these kinds of things so early on in a game is just pathetic and it reeks of wanting to go viral just to humiliate your opponent.
If anything, this just shows that there is a huge maturity gap between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs right now.
