Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews is suffering from an upper-body injury and will not play tonight against the Boston Bruins.

Overall, this has a lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans worried and for good reason. This is a team that is on a bit of a losing streak and it is easy to understand why there is a lot of frustration and some anxiety.

The good news here, at least for the most part, is that Matthews has been listed as day-to-day. When it comes to injuries, this is one of those timelines that you can actually stomach, at least a little bit. However, this is still not great and fans would much rather him be healthy.

Craig Berube on Auston Matthews

Reporter Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun spoke to head coach Craig Berube about the injury. It was confirmed that the injury has nothing to do with the captain's previous wrist issue. Although it is something that has lingered.

Berube on Matthews: "He's been fighting through it a bit." Something that has been lingering.

Nothing to do with Matthews' past wrist issues, Berube said.

Hopefully, Matthews can take some time off, get his injury issues sorted, and come back better than ever. The Leafs could certainly use it.
