As we previously reported, Domi had been taking a few days off from practice for what is being called "maintenance."
Despite these days off, Domi continued to play, so fans figured it was simply no big deal.
However, he has struggled this season and has zero goals, which has stoked fears that an injury is keeping him from being his usual self.
Well, today, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that Domi was going to be placed on the injured reserve, retroactive from Saturday, November 16th.
Now, he can only return as of next Sunday, which means he will miss tonight's game against the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
As for his replacement, the Leafs have called up Nikita Grebenkin. This isn't the only call-up the Leafs have had to make over the last few weeks.
For isntance, the team has also brought in guys like Alex Steeves and Fraser Minten.
Auston Matthews, Max Pacioretty, David Kampf, and now, Max Domi, are all injured. Not to mention, Calle Jarnkrok will be out for months.
You also have Ryan Reaves who is suspended for five games, which doesn't make the situation any better.
At this point, the Leafs are a battered team and it is going to take a lot of effort from the rest of the roster to continue winning.
In the last six games, the Leafs have won five and improved their record of 11-6-2.
Needless to say, this Leafs team is doing a lot of good right now despite their issues.
