Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is being pressured to do something big at the NHL trade deadline and it has led to some interesting reports.

If there is one thing the Toronto Maple Leafs need right now, it is a third-line center who can replace the poor job Max Domi has been doing.

Brad Treliving has a ton of targets right now, including guys like Brayden Schenn and Scott Laughton. With Yanni Gourde and Brock Nelson off of the market, time is running out to find the perfect trade fit.

Are the Toronto Maple Leafs making a trade deadline deal?

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Maple Leafs seem to be zeroing in on someone who had previously not even been on their radar.

That player just so happens to be Luke Kunin of the San Jose Sharks who is a former 15th overall pick of the Minnesota Wild.

He has 11 goals and 18 points in 63 games this season, although to be fair, he does play for a weak team that doesn't score a lot of goals.

As the Maple Leafs weigh their options, two players they continue to pursue as potential bottom-six adds including Brandon Tanev from Seattle and Luke Kunin from San Jose.

Given Kunin's stats, he would certainly be one of the cheaper options on the market for Brad Treliving.

Guys like Laughton and Schenn may end up demanding a first-round pick and prospects like Fraser Minten as well as Easton Cowan.

Luke Kunin on the other hand, would probably demand a mid-draft pick and perhaps a lower-level prospect from the Toronto Marlies.

Either way, Maple Leafs fans are desperate to see a trade today and anyone would be better than nothing at this point. The next few hours will be fascinating to watch.

Do you believe Luke Kunin is a good enough trade target for the Toronto Maple Leafs?
