Overall, Holmberg is on a bit of a tear as of late as he scored two goals against the Carolina Hurricanes and added a third against the Chicago Blackhawks last night.
However, on the goal, William Nylander seemed to be offside and it had many feeling as though the call should have come back.
After a video review, it was declared onside because Tavares did not have his stick on the puck while Nylander was ahead of the blue line.
As you can imagine, Blackhawks fans were quick to rain down some boos in this scenario as they were livid with the call.
Considering the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs won this game by a score of 5-2, it is hard to believe this really would have impacted the final score too much.
Hilariously, William Nylander was on the bench following the goal where he clearly admitted to being offside.
However, the referee had a different interpretation than Nylander, the Maple Leafs ended up catching a huge break, much to the chagrin of the Blackhawks.
If you are a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, this was a pretty good weekend as the team won two games in a row.
Next up, the Leafs have to take on the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, although the Bruins are depleted so the game should not be as difficult.
Meanwhile, the Leafs then get to take on the New York Rangers on Friday. The strength of schedule is in their favor and fans cannot wait to see how the rest of the season plays out for them.
