Last night, the Maple Leafs lost to the Detroit Red Wings and it was one of those games that the team truly wanted to forget as soon as it was over.
With the Maple Leafs taking on a struggling Sabres team tonight, Craig Berube has had to make some big changes as it pertains to his roster.
For instance, Berube has decided to go with goaltender Dennis Hidleby after Joseph Woll played last night.
Meanwhile, Ryan Reaves, Nick Robertson, and Philippe Myers are all going to be in the lineup tonight.
The players coming out of the lineup are none other than Pontus Holmberg, Fraser Minten, and even Connor Timmins.
All three of these scratches are pretty surprising as they have been mainstays of the lineup over the last few weeks.
However, with the Leafs losing games to bad teams, while also being forced into some back-to-backs, it does make sense to give guys a bit of a break.
Moreover, Berube had threatened some changes after last night, so this is very consistent with his recent comments.
Only time will tell whether or not these changes work and the Leafs can overcome their offensive struggles. If the Leafs lose, however, then something has to give.
