The Maple Leafs lost another game to a weak team on Saturday night, this time at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings who had lost seven of their last eight prior to this meeting.
Overall, the Maple Leafs offense was a massive problem and head coach Craig Berube was left in shock about it all night long.
The team missed a total of 19 shots on net, which is horrendous when you realize that the team only hit the net 24 times in the game.
For the Maple Leafs, the only goal-scorers in the match were Matthew Knies and Auston Matthews, although this isn't that surprising.
Following the game, Craig Berube spoke to reporters about what went wrong. It was here where he spoke about the missed shots on goal.
This was the team's first game without goaltender Anthony Stolarz in the lineup since his injury on Thursday night.
However, Joseph Woll was just fine, even if his save percentage in the game turned out to be under .900.
Meanwhile, Craig Berube's Maple Leafs will now take on the Buffalo Sabres tonight, and a win is most certainly expected.
For now, it is unknown whether or not the Leafs will allow Dennis Hildeby to get the start in this one.
Either way, this is a game that the Maple Leafs should be able to win and the stakes are fairly high.
With a record of 18-10-2, Toronto has an identical record to the Florida Panthers, which makes them tied for the Atlantic Division lead.
