On Thursday night, Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz was left injured, and the following day, the team decided to call up Dennis Hildeby on an emergency basis.
Hildeby has already played a couple of games for the Maple Leafs this season, securing a win in the first game, and a loss in the second.
This weekend, Toronto is playing against both the Detroit Red Wings and the Buffalo Sabres, although on Saturday, Joseph Woll is getting the start.
Interestingly enough, Anthony Stolarz made the road trip, which has some wondering about Dennis Hildeby's role over the next stretch of games.
With the Maple Leafs playing Buffalo tomorrow night, one would assume that Hildeby would get the start.
However, based on some fresh comments from head coach Craig Berube, Hildeby's playing time tomorrow is not a guarantee.
At the end of the day, it seems very unlikely that Berube would force Joseph Woll to play back-to-back games on back-to-back nights.
Woll has had some injury issues this season, and it just wouldn't make sense for Berube to take the risk, as that very risk put them in a bad situation with Stolarz.
At the time of writing this, the Toronto Maple Leafs are losing to the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 1-0.
