Easton Cowan is a player who has had a ton of ups and downs this season.
From his poor play at the World Juniors to his domination in the OHL this season, the Maple Leafs prospect has been someone to watch out for.
Last night, Cowan was playing against the Peterborough Petes, the worst team in the entire league.
With this match, Cowan was looking to extend his points streak record to 66 games. Unfortunately, he was unable to do so as his team won the game by a score of 3-1.
Although the kid came close to scoring a couple of times, he ended up hitting two posts and was just not capable of getting on the scoresheet.
As a result, his streak comes to an end and will be etched into the record books at 65 games, which is very impressive, regardless.
You can't get too down on a kid for being able to get points in 65-straight games. That is a ridiculous accomplishment and it should absolutely be celebrated.
One has to wonder what Cowan's role will be with the Maple Leafs next season. That is, of course, if the team doesn't trade him first.
With the NHL trade deadline looming, Cowan has been mentioned in all sorts of trade talks.
He hasn't played a single NHL game and already, he may just have to acclimate to another team entirely. Hopefully, the Leafs keep him around.
