Elliotte Friedman confirms Toronto Maple Leafs trade rumor
Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman always has some scoops, and that is definitely the case as it pertains to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Recently, the Leafs traded Timothy Liljegren to the San Jose Sharks and in return, they got a couple of draft picks in addition to defenseman Matt Benning. Unfortunately for Benning, he is already being implicated in trade rumors.
During a recent episode of 32 Thoughts, Friedman spoke about Benning and the Maple Leafs' plans for him. As you can see, it does feel like the Leafs are potentially thinking of making a move, but only further down the line.

Recently, Benning was asked about these trade rumors. He was pretty firm about all of it, noting that he is ready for whatever comes his way.
Clearly, Benning has a strong head on his shoulders. He knows that the NHL can be a brutal business at times, but he is not letting that get him down in the dumps.
